This educational presentation was created and presented to third grade parents at the beginning of the school year. It helped parents understand North Carolina Read to Achieve legislation that would impact their children.

This presentation was created for an elementary school who needed a way to explain complex legislation to families who are not in the field of education. The legislation included a large amount of education specific technical language that had to be explained to a group of parents with varying levels of knowledge related to educational concepts. The presentation was created to be presented quickly, with an opportunity for parents to engage and ask questions at the end of the presentation.

By the conclusion of this presentation, third grade parents will be able to identify and recall what is expected of third grade children in order to meet the state mandated Read to Achieve legislation.
